A new home can easily become a money pit, just like the movie of the same moniker released in 1986.  Have you seen it?  It's worth a watch, it's a family favorite.  Homeownership is a big step to take, and it is important to know all of the risks associated with a newly built or old home. Most states belong to one of two distinctions—those being ‘caveat emptor’ (buyer beware) states or full disclosure states.

As the calendar reaches its final pages and November slips away, Thanksgiving rapidly approaches. The holiday looks different for everyone, some travel to see loved ones, some build new traditions, and some find themselves hosting in a space that may still feel temporary.

But what I wasn’t prepared for, when I moved to Washington, D.C., was the warmth. The genuine hospitality that greeted me at every corner of the city took me completely by surprise.
